| Bio: | About me: Work: I currently work as a software developer designing database software for healthcare applications. At my last job I was a physicist and I designed image processing algorithms, which is what I always wanted to do when I grew up, but I didn't know I could get paid for. In the future I may consider a career as a stay at home mom, a seamstress, or a marriage counselor, but in the mean time I enjoy the high salaries afforded by high tech. Hobbies: My hobbies include gardening, gaming (cards, board, D&D), hiking, camping, sewing, and travel... but I like to dabble in too many things to list. I also love to make things, and I am not especially picky about the medium. My husband and I play bridge and our convention is precision. We are going to re-up our membership in the ACBL and start playing at clubs regularly... any day now. I enjoy hiking and camping to get out in nature, and because I need the exercise. I'm just starting to explore the camping and backpacking offerings in Wisconsin, so recommendations are always welcome. I do a lot of sewing. As of summer 2005, I am the proud owner of a BabyLock Ellure. I like making ball gowns and also more utilitarian projects. Education: I graduated from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA) in 2004 with a BS in Physics and a concentration in books and literature. Prior to that I graduated from Hillsboro High School (Hillsboro, OR) in 2000. I enjoyed a homeschooling education for grades 1-8, and I can assurely whatever anti-social tendancies I may have were already evident in pre-school... and are most like to do with my being a science and technology geek. Home: I live in Verona, Wisconsin with my husband, but I am an Oregonian at heart and always will be. I grew up outside of Portland, Oregon. I hope to move back to Oregon or Washington eventually. Ideology: I am very liberal and an environmentalist. I have recently discovered that I am a Pagan in addition to being an agnostic, and I am enjoying exploring that right now. As always I'm working on getting my life more in line with my values than it has been in recent years. So far this has taken the form of biking to work, which also has nice synergies with my own personal finances and desire for better fitness, and figuring out how to do compost while living in an apartment, which should produce nice synergies with my garden. About my Family: On the last Saturday of Spring in 2005 I got married to the man of my dreams, Joshua ( ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} camlost). He is my first love, and my last. He is also probably the sweetest man on the face of the Earth.
  About my Journal: My username refers to both my husband's favorite pet name for me, Silly Goose, and the Brothers Grimm story "The Goose Girl." The story of "The Goose Girl" seemed especially appropriate to an online journal because of the passage in the story where the king tells the goose girl that if she could tell her woes to no living soul, to tell them to the hearth instead (and of course, he listens in on everything she says). This seemed like an apt analogy for a public journal. As you read, be aware that I write without a particular intended audience most of the time, and often I write things in anger. I also make it a point never to delete old entries because this is a journal, so there may be some content which certain readers may find objectional. I am sorry if this happens, but please don't assume I still mean or believe everything I have ever written here... I'm quite sure I don't. Many entries are viewable only to people who I have listed as friends, and then only when they are logged in to their LiveJournal accounts.
